Miou Kids

Miou Kids creates beautiful, high-quality garments that embody ethical production principles of fair-trade labour, conscientiously chosen materials, and lasting products.

All Miou Kids knitwear for children is handmade by exceptionally skilled artisans in rural Peru, where knitting is a centuries-old tradition handed down from one generation to the next. Their ancestral knowledge is demonstrated in the amazing quality of their work. Working for Miou Kids empowers knitters by enabling them to provide food, housing, health care, and education to their families while doing something they love. Knitters receive fair wages and the opportunity to work from home while caring for their children. Unlike many other fashion brands, Miou does not continually change lines every season, focusing instead of creating pieces that will not go out of style.

Miou Kids is also committed to the environment in its selection of materials. Baby alpaca wool is light on the planet due to its produced locally to where the garments are knit, and because of the low-impact grazing habits of alpaca. Miou uses Oeko-TEX certified eco-friendly dyes, many of which are plant-dyes based on Indigenous Peruvian tradition.

Each hand-knitted Miou garment tells a story of craftsmanship, creativity and connectivity between the maker and the wearer. “We believe in slow fashion that benefits our earth, our children, and our knitters.”
