Shipping policy

Timing of Order Processing & Shipping

All orders are carefully hand packed and shipped.  

We process orders on a same day basis and aim to ship your order within 1-3 business days from the date of purchase. Orders may arrive approximately 2-10 business days after being shipped, depending on your location and the shipping preferences you choose at check-out. 

Shipping Costs

We currently ship to the US, Canada, and the UK only. Free shipping is offered on orders above $150 to customers within the continental US. Purchases in the US under $150 will incur a flat rate shipping charge of $8. For all international purchases, shipping costs will be calculated at checkout based on weight. 

By default, we send our parcels via USPS Economy (5-8 business days to most parts of the US, and 6-20 days to Canada). If you prefer guaranteed faster shipping using USPS Priority Mail or UPS 2nd Day, you can upgrade at checkout. 

For upgraded shipping options, fees will vary depending on the shipping destination and the weight of the items you purchase. You can check the estimated shipping fee by adding items to your cart, proceeding to checkout, entering your email and shipping addresses. The exact shipping fee will be automatically updated and displayed on the checkout page.

We support shipments to PO Boxes. 

If you are shipping to Canada and wish to expedite, you will be given the option to choose your shipping carrier and will receive their current rate.

Bigelow Lane ships to Canada, the UK, and to all 50 states in the United States. Please contact us if we don't currently support shipping to your location  

Local Pickup

We offer local pickup from 13 Bigelow Street, Cambridge, MA 02139. If you would like to save on shipping and pick up your order at either location, select “local pickup” at checkout and shipping fees will be waived.  An email will be sent once your order is ready for pick up.

Shipping Delays

We do everything we can to get orders packed and shipped out quickly, but there may be delays involved with shipping items due to factors beyond our control, such as postal service delays, weather, holidays, etc.  

We are not able to guarantee delivery on a specific date, and we will not be responsible for related return fees if an item has a delayed delivery. Please contact us if you have any special shipping requests.

The shipping address provided at checkout is the address where the purchased goods will be sent.  We will not modify shipping information after-the-fact so please verify that you have confirmed the correct shipping details before confirming your order. 

We are not responsible for reshipping fees if items are shipped to the incorrect address due to the customer’s error.

We ship using 100% recycled, naturally compostable and biodegradable mailers and materials from Eco Enclose. Additionally we collect and recycle all the plastic packaging that we receive our products in using Cambridge’s plastic recycling program.

Shipping Theft

We are not liable for lost or stolen packages, once the carrier states item has been delivered.

Sales Tax

If you live in a state that requires you to pay sales tax, you will be charged the applicable tax amount, which we will remit to your state on your behalf.

Returns, exchanges and cancellations

All discounted products are only eligible for exchange or store credit. 

All Eucalan and PreLoved items are final sale and can not be exchanged or returned.

Returns are only accepted for full reimbursement, less a $10 flat rate return shipping fee, if the return is mailed within 30 days of original purchase. To be eligible for a full refund, your item must be in the same condition that you received it in; unworn and unused, with tags undamaged and still attached, and free of odors (including cigarette smoke or perfumes). 

To discourage excessive ordering and reduce environmental impact, we charge a restocking fee of 5% for large returns (over $300). This is in addition to the $10 flat fee for returns. We waive the restocking fee if the customer opts for store credit. 

Damage through accident, misuse, improper washing or attributable to wear and tear over a product’s practical lifespan is not covered. 

If you would like to initiate a return, please contact us via email at hello@bigelowlane.com, including name and email associated with the order, and the order number. We will then provide a return shipping label.

We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your items, and let you know if the return or exchange was approved. This could take up to 10 days considering the time it takes for return shipping and inspection. 

If approved, a credit for the value of the returned product, less the cost of shipping, will be applied to the original payment method or store credit will be granted, per customer preference. 

We strive to do this on the day your return is received. Be aware that it takes some banks up to 10 days to have your refund visible on your statement. 

If the item(s) returned to us appear to be worn, washed, or have any variables that would make it considered used, and we cannot resell it as new, then the customer will forfeit a full refund.

Please inspect all of your items as soon as you receive them. If any items appear to be damaged or flawed, or if you receive the wrong item, contact us immediately so we can help to make it right. Please take photos of your items and email us the images before sending anything back to us. Bigelow Lane will repair, replace, or refund the defective product at no cost to the customer.  

When returning items to Bigelow Lane, please use original packaging when possible. More reuse means less waste!

Gift cards will have no expiration date, and will not be eligible for a refund. 

Gifts can be returned for store credit only.
