At Bigelow Lane, we want every piece of your child's new clothing to arrive safely and stay that way. Optional Shipping Protection covers your order in transit and for a short window after delivery, so a lost box or a porch mishap doesn't have to be something you sort out on your own.

Why we offer this

Carriers like USPS typically only insure the first $100 of a package's contents by default — anything above that isn't automatically covered. And once a carrier's tracking shows a package as "delivered," their responsibility ends there, even if it never actually made it into your hands. That leaves a real gap: if a package goes missing after a "delivered" scan, there's often no way for either of us to hold the carrier accountable.

Shipping Protection closes that gap. Instead of leaving you to fight a claim with the carrier, you're covered directly by us for that stretch between "the carrier says it arrived" and "it's actually with you."

What is covered:

• Packages that are lost or stolen while in transit.
• Items that are damaged during shipping.
• Packages stolen or misdelivered after a "delivered" scan

How it works:

1. Package Protection is optional and shown at checkout. Keeping it selected makes your order eligible for reimbursement if a covered issue happens.
   
2. If something goes wrong, reach out as soon as you notice — the sooner we hear from you, the faster we can help.
   
3. Once we've verified what happened, we'll replace or refund the affected item(s), at our discretion.

PLEASE NOTE: if Shipping Protection is not selected, we're not able to offer reimbursement for lost, stolen, or damaged packages — this coverage is what allows us to step in when the carrier can't or won't.

How to file a claim:

• Email us at ShippingProtection@bigelowlane.com with your order number and a description of the issue.
• Include photos if the items arrived damaged.
• We’ll respond within 2 business days to walk you through the next steps.
